about me

I completed my B.A. at Cornell University in May, 2000, where I studied ecology and evolutionary biology. I then moved on to join the Population Biology Graduate Group at the University of California, Davis to continue my education in biology. My specific interests are in the behavior of dynamic systems and the importance of spatial issues in the structuring of ecological communities and the interactions that take place within them. My advisor at Davis is Alan Hastings.

I worked for three years at Cornell with Nelson Hairston, Jr., studying the consequences of long term diapause (dormancy) in crustacean zooplankton. This work has led to collaborative efforts with Barbara Santer and Andy Bohonak, and has brought me into the world of PCR and DNA sequencing.

My curriculum vitae and course list contain some more information about my academic pursuits.
