I am not a soccer star!

I've received a few emails in the past couple of years from fans of Matt Holland, a soccer player from the U.K. Some of these fans actually seem to believe that I am Matt Holland... well, I am, but I'm not... err well, anyway, in the interest of clearing up the confusion, I've decided to put forth a comparison of some of the vital statistics. Then, based on the evidence, you can decide if we're the same person or not. I plan to add photographic evidence at some point in the future. Stay tuned.
Matt Holland
Club: Ipswich Town
Shirt Number: 8
Position: Midfielder
Date of Birth: 11/4/74
Height: 5ft 10ins
Weight: 11st 10lb

Profile:

Holland's excellent form has been recognised by his inclusion in the Republic of Ireland's plans, and his consistency in the domestic game is first rate.

A good passer and driving midfielder, his energetic approach - laced with a few goals - is central to Ipswich's style and he is the club's skipper.

Holland started his career at West Ham, but moved to Bournemouth before making a first-team appearance.

Matt Holland
Club: UCD Population Biology, I guess
Shirt Number: I own many shirts
Position: Seated, at the moment
Date of Birth: 3/21/78, or is that 21/3/78?
Height: 6ft 0ins
Weight: 14st +/-15lb

Profile:

Holland's lousy form was a recurring source of embarrassment during his youth. His strongest sport is bowling, though his consistency is at best second rate.

An above average Matlab programmer with fair to middling skills in C, his code - pedestrian and laced with miscast pointers - runs more often than not and sometimes produces correct results.

Holland started his career at Cornell University, but moved on to the University of California, Davis, before publishing anything of consequence. He still hasn't published anything, even of inconsequence.

I snarfed some content from Soccernet in order to make the distinction clear... I hope they don't mind.
